Taste of December Nights Dec. 4-6
Due to the current pandemic conditions, we are saddened that December Nights in Balboa Park cannot occur as we know it. Instead, the City of San Diego is offering a “Taste of December Nights.” Enjoy some of your favorite food vendors from past December Nights in a drive-thru setting in the Inspiration Point parking lot near Balboa Park.

Holiday Movies on the Beach Dec. 12, 19, 31.
Snuggle up on Del Beach for our favorite holiday movies in a theater under the stars. Guests may cuddle up around a private bonfire with s’mores and relax in a beach daybed or enjoy seating in socially distanced Del Beach sand chairs. Reservations are required.

Newport Beach Christmas Boat Parade Dec. 16-20
Watch beautifully decorated yachts, boats, kayaks and canoes sail along the harbor in the 112th Newport Beach Christmas Boat Parade. New this year is a live broadcast of the parade.

Elf on the Shelf’s Magical Holiday Journey Through Jan. 3
This year Christmas Spirit is running low, so during test flights Santa’s sleigh had to make an emergency landing at Fairplex in Pomona. Join them on a drive-thru quest to build more Christmas Spirit, as you and your elf-loving crew magically shrink down to elf size and embark on a fun expedition to help repair Santa’s sleigh.

Holiday Trains & Candlelight Evenings and Nixon Library Through Jan. 6
This event features President  Nixon’s love of trains and the First Lady Pat’s love of the holiday season. The Christmas display features layouts of model trains going through bridges, snow-capped mountains and stopping in miniature towns and cities. Candlelight Evenings feature photos with Santa, musical entertainment, crafts, and hot cocoa. It’s the perfect activity the whole family can enjoy. Tickets required.

South Coast Botanic Garden’s GLOW Through Jan. 10
South Coast Botanic Garden is proud to present GLOW, a visually stunning art installation that will transform our lush botanic oasis into an oceanic experience for our Garden Lights & Ocean Waters theme using thousands of lights designed by California Outdoor Lighting.

Festival of Lights at Mission Inn  Through Jan. 6
Riverside’s stunningly beautiful Mission Inn is bathed in 4.5 million twinkly lights during the annual Festival of Lights. The free six-week-long holiday tradition begins the day after Thanksgiving and typically features more than 400 animated figures.
